AUSTRALIA'S LARGEST HAND PAPERMILL

The BLUE LAKE FINE ART PAPER MILL is situated on the flanks of a dormant volcano called Mount Gambier. This volcano is situated in the south east region of South Australia, now known as the Limestone Coast.

All Blue Lake Papers are individually hand made and as such vary slightly, giving each sheet a unique and individual character. Also, all sizes have four natural deckled edges, enhancing their appearance and making them ideal to 'float frame'. Sheets have a unique 'dual texture', being rough on one side and medium on the other. Pure white rag is beaten with ideal paper makers water from Mount Gambier's volcanic Blue Lake. (The water has no iron, an alkaline 8.2pH, and calcium to protect the paper from pollution).

All Blue Lake Papers are hand made in Australia at Mount Gambier, from 100% genuine cotton rag. The cotton used is almost entirely pure cellulose fibre, which has a natural resistance to the damaging process of ageing.

Blue Lake Papers are suitable for watercolour, gouache, acrylic, drawing, pen & ink, pastel, relief printing and embossing.
